Freelance Strategist

We’re looking for passionate DEI consultants to join our team as project-based strategists, a pivotal role and driving force in our consulting practice. As a strategist, you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with fast-growing teams on employee-driven assessments, long-term strategy, and innovative initiatives focused on every stage of the employee lifecycle.


What You’ll Do

Client Management

      • High quality relationship management, including client communication, delivery, and engagement

      • Guide clients in implementation of new systems and processes throughout client engagements

      • Effectively present findings and explain processes, including creating and providing thoughtful delivery of clear presentation materials

      • Identify areas of growth where DEI Collective can better support clients through continued partnership

Research and Insights

      • Manage client assessment phase, overseeing various research tools and methodologies like surveys, audits, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews

      • Identify trends in data sets, effectively drawing conclusions and developing recommendations from qualitative and quantitative analysis

      • Think critically and creatively about client needs, developing out-of-the-box solutions in organizational design and people operations with a DEI lens

Project Management

      • Lead a supporting team of associates and work collaboratively with DEI Collective’s internal team

      • Produce effective, high-level work in an organized and timely manner

      • Develop and adhere to smart deadlines to ensure forward movement

      • Exhibit hyper-organization with an ability to handle multiple workflows and projects

Facilitation

      • Facilitate challenging conversations in an impactful, engaging way

      • Foster a judgement-free zone centered on the power of listening

 

You’ll Be Successful If You Are…

Knowledgable

      • Familiarity with and real passion for DEI trends, including evolving industry knowledge and research around key themes -- previous experience working on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion are a must-have for this role. 

      • People operations and organizational design background, particularly as it relates to equity and inclusion in the workplace

Client-Centric

      • Experience with consulting and/or client facilitation, especially with managing expectations, setting and sticking to timelines, and facilitating challenging conversations or conflict (Don’t have a “Big 3” consulting background? No worries!)

Communicative

      • Effective written and verbal communication skills to relay clear, succinct, and digestible ideas for both internal and external partners

Adaptable

      • Excel in a dynamic environment that challenges you to learn new things every single day, work independently and proactively, and where you are inspired to go above and beyond to flex your current skills

Effective

      • Produce high quality work that successfully meets client needs

      • A high EQ and inclusive, compassionate, and resourceful leadership style in a space where the work inherently involves working with different types of people, personalities, conflicts or emotions
