Join Our Team

Collective is an NYC-based diversity, equity, and inclusion consultancy and research lab that is shifting how millennial-driven organizations build, grow, engage, and retain diverse teams. Our creative and compassionate approach to integrating DEI into the foundation of organizations is centered around amplifying marginalized voices, allowing companies to cultivate equitable teams and drive sustainable culture change.

We believe that passionate people are the key to any company’s success, so if that’s you, check out our openings below!

Social Media Intern

We’re looking for a driven and resourceful social media enthusiast to join our team as a summer intern. As a Social Media Summer Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to help us showcase all that we do here at Collective -- from our consulting practice to our Accelerators and beyond! You’ll report directly to the Director of Strategy, but you will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience supporting consulting client work, learning the inner workings of an early-stage startup, and making connections with a broad array of talented practitioners working in the DEI world.

We are committed to making access to internships available to people across all backgrounds. Because of this, internship hours are flexible (a minimum of 15 hours a week is expected), remote work is available, and each 12-week internship comes with a $1,500 stipend.

What You’ll Do

Social Media

      • Create and post scheduled content across all social accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram

      • Use analytics to iterate on our posting cadence and drive engagement

      • Build brand awareness and following across social media platforms

      • Embody our brand’s voice: motivated, clever, humble, and ready to real talk

      • Utilize organic marketing strategies and tools to solidify our social media presence

Content Research

      • Research thought leadership pieces to add to our resource depository

      • Explore other mediums for content creation such as videos, podcasts, radio, etc.

      • Act as our in-house photographer ready to photograph company and client events to showcase to greater audiences

      • Work in tandem with the graphic design intern to write copy for internal and client-facing digital assets

      • Write well-researched bi-weekly posts for our blog Collective Thoughts

      • Edit and post thought leadership pieces from our Collective Partner Network on Medium

      • Utilize Squarespace to keep our website up to date with the latest product offerings and Collective happenings

      • Write updates in the Collective Slack channel and help put together the biweekly Collective newsletter

Ad Hoc Projects

      • Collaborate with the Director of Strategy and Product & Operations Associate on ad hoc projects and tasks such as events, panels, and more!

Communicative

      • Effective written and verbal communication skills to relay clear, succinct, and digestible ideas for both internal and external partners

Adaptable

      • Excel in a dynamic environment that challenges you to learn new things every single day, work independently and proactively, and where you are inspired to go above and beyond to flex your current skills

Creative

      • Constantly innovating and shaking things up with original ideas and curiosity

Resourceful

      • Ready to go with the flow in our early stage startup culture and driven to seek out the answers to questions you may not know the answers to already

Collaborative

      • Team-oriented and ready to partner across Collective with an all hands on deck attitude

Passionate

      • Deeply committed to respecting and amplifying underrepresented voices

What We Offer

      • A flexible work environment (in our Brooklyn HQ or remote) and opportunities for learning

      • A company culture committed to valuing and respecting diverse voices

      • Opportunities to be exposed to fast-growing companies in a variety of industries

      • Networking with Collective’s community of DEI professionals

      • A $1,500 stipend for a 12-week internship

Not-so-fun fact: Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. Think you have what it takes, but not sure you check every box? Reach out to us anyways. We’d love to talk and determine together whether you could be a great fit!
