Business Development Intern

We’re looking for a driven and resourceful Business Development Intern to join our team for the summer. As a Business Development Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to make a huge impact in helping us expand our network through direct outreach and strategic partnerships.  You’ll work alongside the founding team to generate leads, brainstorm partnership opportunities, and connect with folks via email, phone, and events, getting hands-on experience in what it takes to grow an early-stage company.

We are committed to making access to internships available to people across all backgrounds. Because of this, internship hours are flexible (a minimum of 15 hours a week is expected), remote work is available, and each 12-week internship comes with a $1,500 stipend.


What You’ll Do

Market Research

      • Explore the landscape of DEI practitioners and events in NYC

      • Experiment with growth initiatives to find new channels to acquire clients and partners

Sales Operations and Outreach

      • Generate lead lists from online research, networking events, and more

      • Manage outbound email campaigns to connect with potential clients, A/B testing to achieve high-quality conversion

      • Represent Collective and our mission & values to companies and partners in all communications and events

Ad Hoc Projects

      • Collaborate with the Director of Strategy and Product & Operations Associate on ad hoc projects and tasks such as events, panels, case studies, databases, and more!

 

You’ll Be Successful If You Are…

Biz Dev Savvy

      • Comfortable with (or willing to learn about) drip campaigns, Google Sheets, and LinkedIn to stay organized while doing research and spreading the word about Collective

Communicative

      • Effective written and verbal communication skills to relay clear, succinct, and digestible ideas for both internal and external partners

Adaptable

      • Excel in a dynamic environment that challenges you to learn new things every single day, work independently and proactively, and where you are inspired to go above and beyond to flex your current skills

      • Constantly innovating and shaking things up with original ideas and curiosity
